El ámbito enfermero del acceso vascular en España ha experimentado en los últimos años un creciente interés. El patrimonio venoso del paciente es un amplio campo de investigación y trabajo clínico. En este primer curso sobre acceso vascular se ha querido subrayar la importancia que los catéteres PICC y Midline están tomando en el panorama sanitario español. Cada vez más, estos catéteres venosos son insertados y utilizados en la práctica clínica diaria. No por ello, su inserción y manejo son siempre adecuados y aún hoy, se debe conceptualizar un paquete de indicaciones a favor de disminuir la frecuencia de complicaciones.

Desde el momento en que ambos catéteres venosos son funcionalmente diferentes pero su inserción es casi idéntica, el objetivo principal de este curso es conocer las similitudes y diferencias entre PICC y Midline, para mejorar los resultados clínicos, tanto del paciente como de los catéteres mismos.

Tanto la inserción como la gestión de PICC y Midline las realiza personal de Enfermería.

Es por ello que este curso teórico se dirige a personal de Enfermería que trabajen en su práctica diaria con pacientes candidatos y portadores de PICC o Midline y quieran ampliar sus conocimientos en el campo de la gestión del patrimonio venoso del paciente.
